What We Believe

We worship the Most High God who has revealed Himself through Creation, through the life of Christ, and through the Word of God.  The logo we use is a recreation of an ancient symbol of the Trinity.    This symbol shows that God is without begining or end - He has always existed.  It also has three identical parts - symbolizing the God exists in three persons - the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit.

God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are one, co-equal in essence. (John 17:3, Rev. 4:11)

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus was born of a virgin. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice in payment for the sins of all humanity by dying on a cross. He bodily rose from the dead after three days as the unquestionable sign of God's acceptance of the sacrifice paid. He ascended to Heaven and will return someday to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  (Matt. 1:18, John 1:1, 1 Cor. 15:3-4, Heb. 1:3, 1:8, 9:24)

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spritual truth and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live daily under His control. (John 14:26, 16:7-11; 17)

The Bible is God's word to us. It was written under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit by human authors. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Since it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error.  (2 Tim. 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21)

People are made in the image of God and are loved by God, even though we don't deserve His love.  Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by a predisposition of disobedience toward God. This predisposition is called "sin". This is the major problem that exists between God and humans.  (Gen. 1:26, Romans 5:12, Titus 3:3-7, John 3:16)

Salvation is God's free gift to us. But, we must accept it. It is not earned or deserved. It is received by faith. Salvation comes only by trusting in Jesus Christ and nothing else. When we turn from our self-ruled life and receive Christ by FAITH, we are saved. Everlasting life begins the moment we receive Jesus Christ into our lives by faith.  (Acts 4:12, Romans 6:5)
People should care for creation.  God created the universe for the benefit of man and also as a reflection of God's power and creativity.  God has given humans responsibility for caring for creation.  (Genesis 1:28-29, Col. 1:15-20, Psalm 24:1)

The Evangelical Environmental Network is a fellowship of believers who . . .
Declare the Lordship of Christ over all creation. He is the firstborn over
all creation. For by him all things were created. All things were created by him and
for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
(Colossians 1:15b; 16a, c; 17)

These believers. . .

Deepen their walk with the Lord and the life of their churches through
joy-filled worship, Bible study on the topics of creation's care, and prayer that
God's will "be done on earth as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:10).

Show the compassion of Christ for people who suffer from creation's
destruction (Proverbs 14:31).

Demolish strongholds of sin that tarnish the glory and integrity of
God's good creation (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).

Build our Lord's kingdom by active service to restore and renew the works
of his hands (Matthew 6:33; Ephesians 2:10).

Share the Gospel with those who do not know that Jesus Christ is the
ultimate Hope for creation groaning under our sin and the only Hope for our own
souls (Romans 8:19-21; Colossians 1:20, 27).
