Meet Pastor Rand

Hi, I'm Rand Clark, Lead Pastor of Genesis Church. In the Summer of 2006 God worked in my life to lead me to begin this new church in Castle Rock. My responsibility is to provide leadership as we seek to reach the people of Castle Rock. Since we are a new church you'll find me doing just about everything, but my heart is passionate for seeing people connect with God in life changing ways. BASIC STUFF
My wife, Esther, and I met in the fall of 1992 while doing short term music ministry. We dated for almost 4 years while I finished up school in Los Angeles and Esther went back to British Columbia. After many years of phone calls and visits over Spring Break we were married in July of 1996. We moved to Pleasant Hill, CA where I taught music in the public schools and lead worship for Calvary Baptist Church. Esther continued her career working in the financial planning industry.

In the fall of 2001 I accepted a call to come to Monument, Colorado as the Associate Pastor of Worship and Discipleship for Monument Hill Church. In 2006 God ushered in a number of changes in our life. After five years at MHC, God called me to begin a church just up the interstate in Castle Rock.

We have a very mobile and active 3 year old and our baby girl just turned 1.

Since I don’t have an office you can usually find me at one of the local coffee shops drinking an ice tea or having a latte.

 INTERESTS AND FAVORITES:
  • Places: I'm still a California boy at heart. Give me a beach and a volleyball in Santa Monica and I'm good. Other than that, I love Europe and the Dutch Carribean but I don't get there very often.
  • What's on your iPod: Mostly Christian stuff. The guys I wish I could sing like: Jody McBrayer, David Phelps, and Andrea Bocelli.
  • Books: The ones I have to read for school... My top 5: Blue Like Jazz (Miller), Seizing Your Divine Moment (McManus), Now Discover Your Strengths (Buckingham), Real Worship (Weirsbe), and Good to Great (Collins)
  • What do you TiVo: Don't have TiVO but if I did... CSI everything, Idol and more sports than I could possible keep up with... which is why I don't have one.
  • Sport Teams: UCLA, UCLA and UCLA. I'll watch the pros but I'm a college sports guy at heart
  • Movies: Don't go to many movies (I wait and rent them) but currently one of my favorites in "The Interpreter."
  • Hobbies: I'm a videography nut and Tim the Tool Man guy at heart. If I'm not at home with the family or working on a project chances are I'm at Starbucks having a carmel machiatto or a iced tea lemonade. My other hobbies include golf in the summer and skiing in the winter.
  • Odd Facts: There is a lot that is odd about me I'm sure... but we'll go with "born in Tachikawa Japan," for the purposes of this exercise.
