Our Story
In the Summer of 2006, by the leading
of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Rand and Pastor Bobby decided to begin a
new church in Castle Rock, CO. That Fall they committed to begin to
seek God for specific direction, put plans and ideas on paper and
began to build the prayer and resource base needed to start a new
church. In January 2007, Rand was sent out from Monument Hill
Church, where he had served for 5 years and theNET Church Castle
Rock was born.
Wait... you might be thinking... I thought this was about Genesis
Church. We'll get there.
For the first few months of 2007, a group of 15 people - five
families - met every other week to hear more about the church God
was leading Rand and Bobby to start. As a part of this process we
discussed what it meant to be a missional people in Castle Rock; a
church where our focus was on seeing people come into relationship
with Jesus. We talked about what it meant to live in community,
serve people, live a life of faith and celebrate God.
During this time God was active and was moving Rand and Bobby to
understand that we needed to be more than just another new church.
He was leading us to become a church that connected with the values
of the people of Castle Rock. He was leading us to champion the
cause of connecting creation to the Creator; himself. When Rand,
Bobby and the church decided to move in this direction theNET
Church became Genesis Church.
As we began to involve ourselves in the life of Castle Rock we
found that God was continuing to shape our church uniquely to also
become a church that was a part of the fabric of our culture.
During our first year we found ourselves volunteering with various
social organizations in the town and partnering with the Town,
Chamber of Commerce and Meadows Community for various projects.
We’ve picked up trash, threw neighborhood parties, passed out snow
cones and even hosted our first sports camp; all this while meeting
every Sunday morning and beginning to understand what it means to
be a church.
If you would like more information about Genesis church or would
like to connect with Rand please contact us. He would love to share
with you more about our journey and where he feels God is leading
us. In the mean time, feel free to browse our site; or better yet,
